Changing program names?

Postby jpchartrand » Thu Oct 11, 2012 3:16 pm

Hey guys,

Do you change the program names given in 3rd party libraries?

I'm just thinking I'd rather see the real hardware name instead of some code name lol

Thoughts?

You only can change N2P file name. Use NAT or Nebula Save As.

It's pretty simple to do if you feel you need to.

Open NAT3 and open tyour nebtemprepository/programs folder.

Grab the selection of n2p files that you want to change and drag and drop to NAT main window. A table opens up where you can edit names and category structure. You can cut and paste between cells of the table to speed things up.
Hit overwrite and you're done. Hit Restart to move on to another batch.

Bear in mind that if you receive any updates to the library that ovrwrites the n2p files, you would lose your changes and need to redo it.

In case you don't know about this:

You can change program descriptions to "real" names using tools like NebulaMan. Single or multiple (batch) mode is supported. There is also a descriptions pack available for some of the libraries.

NAT is windows only and I think installs only with the 32bit pro version, so if you only installed x64 you would now need to install the x86.

If you have done all that then it should be in Nebtemprepository/NAT folder.

I'm on Mac...

I've been looking into NebulaMan but I can't really figure out how I'd be using it...Inside my DAW? As a standalone?

NebulaMan is a standalone program (win, osx) for preview and rendering audio files with Nebula programs. Descriptions update option is a bonus feature :)

If you'll look into Quick Guide (available as a separate download), you'll get an idea quickly.

Hint: you can update descriptions with demo version ;)

IMPORTANT!!!!
Don't forget to backup your complete \nebulatemprepository folder, before updating descriptions, in case something unexpected happen (not likely) :)
