sound to itself, like the hardware has.
For instance, I prefer AITB 1073 on overheads,
and AlexB's 1073 on close drum mics.
What's great also, are the differences of the hi-shelf filters
in each library, like AlexB 1073, 1081, or Cdsoundmaster's 1084.
None of them better than the other; each are well suited per application.

Probably because they are sampled of different N**e 1073s ;) . In the analog world, everyone doesnt sound exactly 100% the same!

I think it would be only fair to share my knowledge on this subject.

1. None of the eqs have the full path of a N**e 1073 and they all are very different.

2. Henry Olonga has the Mic/Line preamp paths from 10db - 70db of gain. Those are VERY different, LINE being clean and MIC is dirty/vintage which of course will have different applications.

3. Alex B 1073 is VERY powerful in the mid-range (which is my main application for this eq) and between 0.5 - 2db of gain pretty much can excite/pull anything our of the mix.

4. CD Sound master 1084 is the (cleanest) Never eq I have heard and you can push it as hard as you want, things won't break up.

I specifically tested these and most other 1073's sound "flat" in comparison to Alex B's version. It has a magic to it I can't find anywhere else..

Agreed about AlexB new 1073-eq.

The 1073 mid-band is a standard for me on guitar solos to make it stand out. I really really like the 1073 for this application. Sometimes in the 1,6 khz region, sometimes all the way up to the 7 khz region.

However, I recently had problems with a very nasal voice with sharp peaks all the way from the 3 khz area up to 8-9 khz. Above that it was recorded in a completely untreaded room and had weird resonance in the 7-12 khz area and in the low-mid. A boost of 2 db in the 1,6 khz area with AlexB 1073 gave the vocals some body and I was able to lower the overall volume about 2 db with the same perceived volume as without the boost. The vocal appeared much smoother now. So now I have a trick to gain some meat in harsch and nasal vocals :)! It really did something the other EQs don't, I havent heard what this did in 1073-emulations.

Many thanks! I will keep trying, but many times lately the site is 'Down for Maintenance'.
Is there a link to Fate EQ somewhere here or elsewhere?

Best, :D

Right - I think they still have to sort out that european VAT thing.
Unfortunately they only sampled the Line-In, not the Mic-In. It sounds really good though.
