Transcending Music's Psychoacoustic plugins

Postby woeischris » Sun Jul 31, 2011 12:05 am

My Son Max, Ms Smith, So Transcited, Behemoth. I bought Behemoth yesterday and downloaded the free Ms Smith but won't have time to play with them for... I don't want to think about when... but their descriptions sound quite cool. Checking the demos on My Son Max right now.

Anyone have any experiences to share?

Yep. Got them all. Worth getting: sometimes useful, sometimes solves problems other programs cant, sometimes not appropriate. Toolbox stuff.

I really like smart designed but still simplistic tools. The joy is similar to experiencing new bought hardware, more personal when working.

My Son Max is one of the rarest gems around. Really really useful when mastering or even on the Master bus while mixing. A bit of high and low will balance your mix a lot! Mud cleaner.

great programs and he is a great guy to talk to!

i use the free programs and bought "so transcited".
whenever you want something to sound more intense or cut better through the mix, without becoming "louder", this can be a great help, besides eq and compression.

Played with them last night, very cool. Behemoth did wonders to my drums! Need to spend some more time with them, though.

Maybe OT but since drums came-up, did anyone listen the audio example of upcoming comp.? 8-)

Which comp?

I used Behemoth on a master last night, level 1, and it cleaned up the bottom end in the most subtle but significant way. When I get time, I'll post samples of before and after. Definitely see myself using this on everything.

Just saw it will be called Greensqueeze :). I listened to the demo file, sounds very tight. It's not in the psychoacoustic section but under the compressors.

From the psycho stuff I use So transcited a lot. To me it seems that if you boost different frequencies on different instruments it makes it very easy to mix them together. Behemoth is everywhere. I also like to use Ms Smith and automate it throughout the track for some extra movement.
