We are pleased to announce our latest release for NebulaPro:
The "Q8 444X EQ/CONSOLE COMBO" For NebulaPro!
This vintage hardware with remarkable sound is inspired by one of the most perfectly preserved and rare pieces of audio history; an original Quad-Eight Electronics Film Console EQ/Mic/Line/Pre! To appreciate the sound, think everything from early film scores to Motown, to Pink Floyd's "The Wall".
The "Q8" represents the apex in the Electrodyne, Quad-Eight Electronics, Sphere Console, Western Electric legacy.
Please visit the "Q8 for NebulaPro" Product Page, where you can read about its rich history, view the manual, graphs and images, download two free demo programs, and purchase yours today! (Previous customers, make sure to email us for your special discount).
Did you get yours from Ken directly? I love quadeight & electrodyne gear. Ken is great, one of the best (if not the best) analog techs in SoCal. He has saved our euphonix more then once when things go south. Great guy to talk shop with. Got some great tips on building a set of 1108's. He has some new 500 series stuff coming out as well.
I bought this as soon as I got the email for existing customers. And no, I did not go to his website and listen to any audio demos, I just bought this. Michael's libraries have become my favorites, and this one is truly gorgeous, as I described it on another thread. Like the post above this, it really can go on every track if you wanted. I took out a project that was already "done", stripped it down to raw tracks again, and reprocessed it using all CDSM stuff front to back. Globe, R2R, TB+, this new Q8, a little Cooltec.... very very nice. The song has a new life. Buy this library, you will be glad to have it in your tool-box.
The HW sampled historically seems to be the big sister/brother of the Globe...
How Michael or the owners of both program can describe their similarities or main differences ?
I was planning the buy the Globe as my second "go to" console, because of it's character but because of it's versatility too.Being more on the gritty side sonically (like 4000 instead of 9000)I was wondering if those two,Quad8 and "Globe" can be compared as the two S*L mentioned above. Same family but the Q8 being more "vintage colored" due to it's primogeniture.(Wow that's a big word ! I don't even know if that's English )
