1176 all in sounds superb. thanks Eric. I did try the uad all in, and no comparison.

How does it handle the distortion with
all buttons in?

I used brit mode on the vocs and I pulled off the threshold a little to tame it down some. I never used a real 1176 so I can not give a comparison in that direction, but against uad plugs, big difference.

Eric, which patch and settings (including MAST editing, if any) did you use for the audio demo on your site, which sounds great?

Hey guys, what is your approach with this compressor? Because I tried it on kick drums with the fastest release (ratio 4:1) and I found it hard to adjust the threshold and to get the good result. I worked with many other compressors but this time I'm a little :roll: It's pumping on fast parts. Thanks!

I do not think the real fast attack is the way to go. I tried it on my master bus and it kept giving some type of puck sound until I slowed the attack. One thing I have read on gearslutz about the 1176 is that it is very music dependent. Meaning it's not a quick to sound good when you insert it cmpressor. You have to really research for the sweet, and the tamed spot with every new song.

Thanks! I will have to tame this compressor. I will pay attention to the attack. :) Thanks for your help.

@DavidMeShow
Remember the attack functionality is opposite most other compressors.
7=fastest.
0=slowest.

Just happened I hit save for that demo session.

Just start with the threshold @ 0.
Lower it until the amount of compression sounds right.
Set the attack to your personal preference for the instrument.

Since it's released, open a new thread for discussion :)

Web audio demo sounds pretty good.
