Free program - Class A Mic pre * Update-7k *

hi everybody,
here is my first nebula program and i am happy to share it with you :D

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9435398/LineAudio-Micpre5k.zip

i sampled two channels from my line audio (swedish brand) class a mic pre.
i used a stagetec truematch ad-converter (nice piece of technic :D ) and vovox-cables. levels are moderate, so you can drive it a little.

the stereo-levels are a bit off (by 0.14 db), so i provide it, set to mono.
you can switch to stereo on the kernel-page, if you are not concerned by the little "unbalance".

have fun and tell me how you like it!
greetings,
mathias

p.s.
maybe dropbox shuts down, when a lot of people download the program.
be patient and try again later. or if somebody can provide a mirror, please post the link here.

UPDATE 15.8.2011:

i sampled it again, now without the 20hz highpass from the stagetec converter.
this time it is 48 khz and 7 kernels.

here is the dropbox-link:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9435398/LineAudioPre7k.zip

as before, it is a stereo program, sampled with one of the finest ad-converters one can imagine (this is what i think about it  ).
it is a really transparent class a preamp, so don't expect much colouring. it can bring some definition and presence on the masterbuss or on tracks.
have fun,
mathias

It sounds good. How do I know if it is in stereo or mono? You said it's in mono but my kernel page says it's in stereo. When I click on it the first time, it says that it's loading mono....
Would it help bandwidth if I re-uploaded on my own Dropbox? Let me know and thanks!

Thanks for the presets. I'm a big fan of line-audio. Already ordered 4 pairs of CM3 from Roger. In my mind, easily the most natural sounding wide-cardioid in the sub 300-400 euro (and probably more).

it is a bit counterintuitive in nebula:
when you see stereo, it is in mono-mode and vice versa.
so what you see on the label is what you get, when you press it.
thanks for the offering of a mirror, just post it here.

i never tried the mics from line audio, but they look interesting. the micpres are great, very transparent and open at a great price.

Same goes for the mics -very transparent. Compared to the high end Schoeps and Sennheiser, the CM3 sounds a bit less detailed, but considering the price difference...

Thanks mathias. I don't mind that almost un-noticed imbalance at all! Analog gear is never precise down to the decimal anyway, so it just adds another level of realism to me. Nice and subtle preamp. Here's the extra link;

sounds like maybe whatever audio program you used to edit the file, maybe you saved it in a slightly different format? if you look at the options for 32bit audio for example, there are like 4 or 5 different types of 32bit (at least), and i've had to deal with NAT not being able to handle whatever version i saved to once and it took me a while to track down the source of that issue. if all you are doing is opening the .wav that was used to create this original version of the program in some kind of editor, and then just adjusting the amplitude of one channel to match the other, and saving... that would be my guess. the format is being changed.

thanks for the tip tim!
i will have a look into this.
i opened the file in samplitude, corrected one channel in level and saved it to the same format (32 bit float). maybe the file header is changed in this process.
