Hi biomuse - well it is in the sense that if something is "S*L like" and some people say it's (Sonalksis) modelled after the S*L 4000, that perhaps we might like to talk about it here in the "4KD Pro" thread. Certainly not trying to bite you there; I could have been more specific about what I was driving at in the first place.

If this were a web commerce store my post is more like "Those who liked/thought about buying SV-315mkII also bought..."

<< And yes, I'm on the beta tester team here/moderator, I'd not be going slightly OT on our own forum for no reason! ;)

Mercado_Negro wrote:The Sonalksis SV-315mkII is a legend, one of those truly amazing plug-ins with a very nice sound. It's the only plug-in I've heard which doesn't thin out kicks during compression. If I need punchy drums I go for The Glue but if I need a tight and solid low-end on my kick then the SV-315mkII is my "go-to" compressor. Sometimes I use both: the SV-315mkII with an attack of 10ms or 8ms and auto-release with mode II for that tight bottom end and then The Glue right after it with a short attack (1ms or 3ms) and also auto-release.

I see Mercado likes the SV-315mkII for some things too.

Certainly no disrespect to Alex, I just think it's great to compare and contrast things! For me the demo doesn't contain ratios and settings I'm more interested in. Just trying to see if it's something I should be buying as an alternative to some other things I have for things like smooth vocal processing (I'm not so interested in drums).

I think the SV-315mkII may have a similar smoothnes to the 4kds auto release, but that's about it. The 4kd has more of a tighter compact sound, while the SV-315mkII sounds a little looser.

How long order processing does usually take?
I payed invoiced this morning and still no reply.
Invoice e-mail said it takes no more 24hrs normally , so I guess I have to wait.

I thought the Sonalksis was modeled after
the Smart C1 compressor, which is kind of an S*L
buscompressor-clone.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think it is modeled after any specific unit but many people talked about the similarities to the Smart C1 in the past when the plug-in was released, IIRC.

Isnt there someone that would make a LA2A for nebula. That would be pretty sweet. And wouldnt that be a fairly simple comp to do, consider that its just kind of two knobs there!? Im no pro so might be talking out my ass. But would be kind of nice. :D

La 2a, Is only two knobs, that is easy, but getting the two knobs to create the right function behind the gui is the hard part. La 2a fast attack.

First of all, my apologies for bringing back old thread.

I've downloaded and properly installed 4KD Dynamics Collection Demo, but I couldn't find the programs in my Nebula3 Free (1.3.502, x64 version).
Can someone help me?
