http://sox.sourceforge.net/

the thing about sox is that it's a command line app, so you have to use parameters and stuff. you can create a shortcut icon to a batch file, and drag and drop wavs into that, and they have examples at the site, but it would be nice if there was a gui. it does a lot of other stuff, and i personally don't understand why anyone would use a command line program to do some of it instead of just getting a wav editor with a gui, but to each his/her own...

I've seen a sox extension for foobar2000

Would it be possible for us to convert our libraries using sox? Even maybe batch convert?

Already tested SoX into foobar2000 and is working, I'm using foobar2000 portable from a USB memory as usual...

As I understand it n2v files contain loads of individual kernels, which would each need properly converting. The library developer could do this as a batch process on the original files separately, but once everything is gathered up into a single n2v file I doubt that users could do the same :ugeek:

Remember how Nebula 'reads in' and converts the individual kernels when it loads a program?

...i didn't put any indicator in there because i didn't think it would fit but i guess now that i think about it, it would... or would it? i'm not totally sure, i'll go check.

Thanks for the detailed reply tim 8-)

Perhaps Enrique could leap in him and quote the longest number of characters now supported in the new list view, as I strongly suspect that many users would find it easier if some libraries had less cryptic names to wade through, amazing though they sound

Personally I'd love to add tiny icons to the list view to differentiate more easily between different classes

Thanks for the info. For me it's about loading times. I guess I won't have the problem when I can upgrade my pc, but for now my ideal would be to convert all my nebula programs to 48k. I'll see what I can do with NAT

Sorry for hijacking your thread. I haven't even bought them yet :)

I really don't know. With the old browser was 17 characters.

enriquesilveti: thanks! this will help with converting the tubefm1 and 2 sets. you have to convert the impulses instead of the tone sweeps, so you are dealing with a few thousand files per set. with the batch/shortcut icon setup i was using, you can only process around 17-20 a time, so dragging and dropping that many out of thousands... is insane.

About the spring reverb set though, demo set is available finally! It includes what I think is my favorite one (#3), but with no distortion, and then also #1 with distortion kernels. Both are limited in the amount of dynamics they have (check included txt for more info about limitations.
