VNXT EMT 140 Latency

Postby dagmarpiano » Tue Mar 22, 2011 10:00 pm

Hmm, just trying the VNXT EMT140 programs and it seems like there's a big latency created by this, 1 or 2 seconds.

NOW... I AM new to Nebula so maybe it is simply the case that Nebula 3 Reverb just has a big latency and therefore it is only usable while mixing, not while tracking. Is this correct? Or should I be able to get a low latency performance out of this, and be able to use it as a Send effect while tracking?

Thanks if anyone can help to explain this.

nebula reverb has a big latency!!
it is two times the amount, you can see on the masterpage.
this is to calculate long kernels (especially reverbtails) correctly.

ah ok. it's a shame because the reverb sounds so beautiful it would be nice to use it as a send effect while i develop a new album, but never mind, looks like it's back to the basic Waves IR-1 plates until mix time

If your daw has auto full latency compensation, it won't be a problem!

Yeah, not as an insert while tracking

Nebula F.A.Q.

Q.5.7 Is it suppose to be a delay when you use this plug-in?
Nebula Reverb version has more or less 16K of latency, which is not so much, around 1/3 of second. Some VST/AU hosts behave strangely when latency is more than 8192. So change DSPBUFFER parameter to a small value like 2048. With this setting CPU load is x4, but the latency is exactly the x0.25.

The CPU demand is very high in the low latency version.
