The effect of the (threshold) of the nebula, It is less noticeable than the digital compressor. Why?
And the (threshold) of compressor hardware, what is the difference with compressor nebula ?
I feel a huge difference between them, could someone explain?

How you can feel this if I haven't released yet the compressors ?
In the preset used for these demo the controls reacts like the original hardware. Like in all programs this is dependent by 3rd party developer...

This topic is for CLD and not "general compressor in nebula"...

It was one thing I would to know and I asked on impulse...
I'm anxiously waiting for your compressor.

AlexB wrote:A little audio test with the very 1st beta of the Classic Logic Dynamic : the console mixbuss compressor.
The compressor is taken from the console, not the racked unit which sounds different but the "real" thing. The difficulties are to isolate electrically the circuit and to match it with the converters in the right way. I have compared the CLD with two good sounding S*L BussComp plugins.

Audio demo

Original Mix

Mix with Waves

Mix with The Glue

Mix with CLD MB Punch

Mix with CLD MB Open

All compressors have the same settings, gain reduction (-2dB) and makeup gain. Levels matched at +/-0.1dB.

The program is sampled at 44.1kHz, I have tried the 96kHz and clearly it sounds light years better but a little bug still in Nebula, so we wait for the fix...

Cheers
Alex

Sorry, probably this is a stupid question, but.. anyway what is the difference between CLD MB "punch" and "open"?
With my ears I prefer the "open" version, just a little bit wider and compact, in my opinion. :)

Sorry for my english, I mean "wider" because I hear more high frequency and "compact" because the transient are closer to each other. :)
I'm talking about the "open" version compared to "punch" version.
