hmmm, don`t know really... the Snap is a little fuller (some sidechaining going on maybe) and doesnt`t start pumping as early. Just testing this on a mastering on some slow pop-country. But I`ve got most of Alex`s stuff so I know he`s quality so I`ll test some more. I`ve never used the original desk only owned the X-rack version -that`s a 9000 version of the comp as far as I remember.
The compressors have been totally refurbished. Every single stage has been isolated from the console to maintain the pure audio path without unwanted console coloration. So: no sidechaining or tricks to pump the bass
