Do you mean high gain reduction , if so that would be a very good way of judging.

I'm sorry but I haven't time to do more and more test.
(This is one reason because I don't like to make tests: people ask more and more and my time is limited) You can download the free-demo soon and make all you want.

Also you can refer at the 1st post in this page to see how high GR works.
It's the very 1st beta release and the final release sounds a lot better.

I stop me here with this 3d.
Thanks

Alex

It's good enough to release 4KD for now. As nebula goes, it will getting better due to Alexb perfection.
Remember the progress of CLC, CLC PRO, and CLC Stereo.
Always getting better :)

Thanks for this comparison !
I think Waves is actually closest to the Hardware, but it sounds like a plugin. Nebula does the best job recreating the sound character. Compression itself is pretty different, but works. Interesting !

i had a good listen to all the files in the latest comparison on good setup.

afraid the hardware is a lot better than all of them. it is the only one that seems to firmly 'grip' the music and hold it in place without making it sound worse in some way.

nebula version in many ways is better than the others, but in other ways not.

some of the others sound small and distorted compared to the hardware! nebula does *not* suffer from this.

i would say nebula is probably the best, it does the least damage, but it doesn't grip the music and make it solid like the hardware. are things likely to improve soon?

don't get me wrong, nebula is obviously leading the way here, but let's go all the way and nail hardware compressors for good! :)

I guess you mean "dry origin file" for us to play and compare?
That would be useful since there's no much hardware audio clips to reference.
