So i was thinking if someone tries to sample say a Fut Bustard or a Portico 2 Master Buss processor would it be able to capture the special way it uses stereo spread?

I own a Portico 5042 and remember speaking to CD sound Master. And he said it would be hard to if even possible to capture it accurately due to the levels of distortion.
I find the stereo spread on the portico very unpredictable. especially as the unit has no fixed indent for pan positioning. I've never been able to use it on my master 2 bus. The first unit I had was returned due to faulty stereo positioning. I can get similar sounds out of R2R when not driven hard but if driven hard I cannot.Leaves me wondering which one is more accurate. I think the R2R is too clean although Michele gave me the noise samples of the actual machines and that helped.and the Portico is to dirty when driven hard.

Think I'm going to sell my Portico 5042 anyone want to buy? its still got 3 years warranty......:)

Portico 5042 is a line driving amplifier, no time variant model, no too much knobs, seems to be not difficult so sample.
