Have you actually used the two T-Racks3 compressors?

I have both yes. I do like the 670 but recently the Fatecomp, DBX165 and Drawmer 1968 Nebula programs have been released. Now that's what I called analog compression. Go check them out.

How do you rate those three compressor programs - ie. what are they most suited for?

Check out the forum, there are threads about the D*x and Fatecomp.

Personally I like the Fatecomp on almost everything except on the mixbuss. I've bought the Drawmer programs yesterday, I do like them on the mixbuss so far but I have to play with them a little more.

Bump - I finally got the R2R collection. Where do I start? I dread going through all of the programs. I'm looking for a transparent but punchy setting to put on all channels.

I suggest you should do a search on this forum, much has been written on this topic already recently. For instance, use "favourite r2r" as search term. Really, it is much faster doing a search than waiting for replies.

Or better yet - try them out and hear for yourself!

If you wanna be fast try something like Studer_-10_15b for tracks and OTR30-ATR 6b for the mixbuss.
