Forgive me for asking, but is Nebula dead? Last update post from Giancarlo was in December... I haven't seen/heard etc. nothing from the developers.. the only "place" that's alive is the 3rd party thread.. Does anybody know what's going on?
I think the product is stable enough at the moment, so we didn't upgrade it further. Every day anyway I'm spending still a lot of time on nebula, for example supporting 3rd party developers, releasing templates, supporting new users.
Only I'm a bit sad because we didn't release for mac osx x64. I'll upgrade soon my main macbook pro to lion, in order to provide full compatibility with this OS too, so I'll be back on that topic again. I'm actually involved on a different project but develping things I'll use in nebula project too. I want to improve tcp communication supporting snappy data compression and thrift/protcol buffers. I didn't find enough time for doing some music production lately too, I was too much busy
I should add: I have been developing nebula for about 8h x 7d from september 2005 to august 2011. I think the actual product is stable enough, so I stopped developments for a while. There is no other product which has been in "developing state" for such a long time. I love the product and I'll be on it again asap. I didn't stopped me from supporting users and 3rd party developers in the meanwhile. I think I'll upgrade my macbook to lion and I'll start coding again very soon.
I understand. Take your time. Just, please, make sure that (for MacOSX) the 64 bit version will not be not a Lion-Only plugin. Lion for audio (and other things, for a Pro user) is well behind Snow Leopard (It's a mac Vista) It's a Graphic and Cpu eater. For a Pro (Well, I'm not calling me a pro, and maybe I'm only acting like that...) some things are not only unneeded, but can also be damaging. Snow is much more light and stable. No Jack, no H******* Mixbus and others apps/Plugins working well in 10.7 Please keep a 10.6.8 partition. You'll soon understand why, and what I'm saying... We'll wait. Hoping for a stable jBridgeM for now. Bye, Giancarlo, my best regards
