RAM Share on multiple instance?

Postby SWAN » Thu Apr 12, 2012 2:18 pm

I remember reading about this...but Ive been searching but cant find confirmation of if and how nebula 3 pro shares RAM when you use multiple instances of the same program.

How does this work? Does it happen automatically?

Lets say using many Alex B CLQ filters...can say 10 nebula instances use the same ram loaded from 1? Seems too good to be true...

I assume it work by loading the kernels into ram and then multiplexing multiple instances nebula into 1 set or ram stored kernels.

Nebula Free has CORE 3 ram share technology - but not Neb Pro?

So I need server edition to get RAM sharing...

yes... our free products are always based on latest engine available, in this case Core3. Old products are maybe based on old engines!

Still, if the library needs sample rate conversion, the clone plug-in action in Reaper4 using ctrl-drag waits for the sample rate conversion instead of using the already converted one in memory. If the sample rate converted version could be reused, the whole project loading time will be A LOT less.

Does this mean with the server edition meaning core3 I can get more instances running, because of ram sharing?

When is Nebula3 Pro Bundle going to be updated with CoreIII then?
Wouldn't it be nice if paying customers would also get what is in the free version?

Never. CORE3 = Nebula3 Server.

Nebula3 FREE is a DEMO of the present product that is under develop. We will add any new feature in Nebula2/3 and Nebula3 PRO that can both COREs support for free but if you want to have shared memory optimizations you must product upgrade to Nebula3 Server.
