Can't see any installed programms

Postby Unicorn » Tue Nov 02, 2010 1:07 pm

Hi,
I'm new to Nebula and would like to get some help.
I got Nebula Pro, installed it and the update. Registered with the .ser file, installed some libraries, but I can't see any program when I open Nebula in Cubase 4.
There's just INIT and nothing to choose.
Could it be a problem that my XP is installed at drive D: but the Nebula files are in C:\nebulatemprepository
Is there a way to show the plugin where the files are at?

edit: Hello to everyone

Hi.

I am having the same problem. I initially installed Doc Fear and some A*I presets and they showed up ok. I cannot remember where I installed those ones though.

I am currently installing the commercial presets I downloaded from Acustica website into the 'nebula temprepository' folder. They seem to install ok but don't show up in Nebula.

I previously sent in my .ser file and recieved a license file which i installed into nebulatemprepository also. It is a little unclear where things are meant to be installed. Hopefully we can get this sorted and get to using the Nebs!

Cheers and thanks for any help. Ant

Could be. From Nebula FAQ:

Q.4.3 When I load Nebula there are no emulation presets parameters, only an init. What's wrong?
You didn't download and install any emulation presets or or, if you have downloaded and installed the emulation presets in a different folder to your Nebula folder. Navigate to your VST plugin folder you will find a folder named "Acustica", inside this folder you will see two .XML files. Those file are Nebula MAST page settings. Right click on the file, and click on edit. You should see the below text:

<DATAPATH> C:\nebulatemprepository\ </DATAPATH>
<PROGRAMSUBPATH> Programs/ </PROGRAMSUBPATH>
<VECTORSUBPATH> Vectors/ </VECTORSUBPATH>
<SETUPSUBPATH> Setups/ </SETUPSUBPATH>

As you can see, the emulation presets (N2P and N2V files, stored in programs and vectors respectively) are in C:\nebulatemprepository\ (PC). On a Mac, it is located in HD/library/audio/presets/acustica audio/nebula. Check if Nebula is searching for your emulation preset in the right folder on your hard drive by referring to this file.

Make a Search for N2P and N2V files...

Check if you have a double nebulatemprepository, is a common mistake.

Using ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH trick

You can use nebulatemprepository for INIT files or yours libraries. I prefer move all less INIT to other HDD or HDD partition and use ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH trick, I use a separated folder for each 3rd developer.

Ok, my problem is solved.
I reinstalled it and choose D: as filepath.
Then I realised I made a mistake by installing programs right out of the zip. It said, installed successfully, but there is nothing.
You need to unzip first and then install the programs.
So it basically was just my own stupidity ;)

Nebula is quite complex, we try to simplify everything...

Hi Enrique

I uninstalled and reinstalled Nebula so I could get a better understanding of where things go. Nebula is on C: and the presets are on D: in my samples folder in a renamed folder called 'Nebula Presets'.

I installed the A*I presets and doc fear programs again and they show up and load fine in Nebula. When I install the factory presets downloaded from the official Nebula collection, they don't show up in Nebula.

I just can't get them to load. I have registered and installed the lisence (do I need a new challenge/response file if I uninstalled and then reinstalled Nebula?).

This is as frustrating for me as it probably is for you because it's probably something so simple. I just can't see what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks!!!

Hi again. I installed the lisence into the presets folder and it works fine. I thought I had to install lisence into main nebula folder...bit confusing there.

thanks for all your help! so glad to have this working.
