Standard Category 1 Names

Postby TranscendingMusic » Wed Sep 08, 2010 6:04 pm

EQU = Equalizers
CSL = Consoles/Mixers
PRE = Preamps/INIT/ ADA Loops
COM = Compressors
PAP = Psychoacoustic/Pan/Enhancers
REV = Reverb/Real Spaces/Ambience
TMV = Chorus/Flanger/Delay
GTR = Guitar/amp stuff
MIC = Microphone stuff
DST = Tubes/Xformers/Distortion units
TPE = Analog Tape related
.
This is how I personally do it. If the rest of all of you
& Dev's agree on this say 'YAY' and we make this standard. If not say 'NAY'.

YAY! :lol:

We are already following this scheme:
Category1: As described above
Category2: Release Name (MAM=Mammoth, APE=Ape Channel, ...)
Category3: Used for special programs ("Clean", "Expansion", ...)

YAY!

nice to see that my post in the other thread had some positive impact :P

naive question: is there anything imagineable that's not covered with these? what's with some "special chains" that people sample? tubes, xformers etc., do they belong into the preamps category? shouldn't there be a category for some "unforseeable" development or presets that don't fit somewhere else called VAR e.g.?

Good idea :)

I want more from GTR = Guitar/amp stuff.
Old cab programs from AE could be improved in more systematical way.

Yea good idea, I'd consider tubes and Xformers under the "Distortion" category. So I added that as part of the description

YAY and NAY – instead of "DST" I'd choose "SAT". <-- Yay or nay?
