Tim P. .XML- mod & timed kernel length Nebula compressors

Postby Gorgol » Wed Jun 22, 2016 6:35 pm

Anybody do the Cupwise "mod" for compressors successfully?

http://www.cupwise.com/fx/product-manuals/C_660.pdf

There is mention of altering the .XML files associated with Nebula.

Anybody know exactly which and how many files will need adjustment? I find it unclear in the C660 manual if more than 1 .XML file needs editing and I don't want to make a mistake.

What have you done exactly ?

Do you use the C660 library with the regular Nebula plugin (Nebula, or Nebula Reverb, or NebulaZL)?
Or do you use Nebula Setups for having different plugins for differents libraries?
Or do you use the trick of the Cupwise manual (create a new copy of Nebula Reverb.dll and rename it)?

You must modify the xml file corresponding to the dll plugin you use for that library.

Haven't done anything yet.
But the plan is to make a new copy of Nebula as in the Cupwise manual.

So it is just the one .XML file.

Thx!

Done!

You need a separate XML file for the 'new' Nebula too.

It's why NebulaSetUps is so useful.

Yes, make a copy of Nebula Reverb.dll and Nebula Reverb.xml, and rename them Nebula Cupwise.dll and Nebula Cupwise.xml.
And then do the modifications in Nebula Cupwise.xml.

Works great.

Now i can set the clean kernel maximum to over 80ms, and over 40ms for the harmonics.

Batches take a long time that way, but it comes in real handy in cases that need more kernel length.
