If you don't have second HDD/SDD has almost no sense use ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH, anyway will work.

In this example you can see path for second disk

<ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH> Mac HD2/NebulaComercialLibraries/CPCL/ </ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH>"

As you can see it is not relative path, it is complete path. So...

<ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH> Mac HD/FOLDER CREATED FOR NEBULA LIBRARIES/ </ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH>"

Inside FOLDER CREATED FOR NEBULA LIBRARIES folder you should create two folders, Vectors and Programs folders. Then move all N2V files less INIT.N2V to Vectors folder and all N2P files less INIT.N2P to Programs folder.

For edit N2P tags that you see in Nebula, also used by Nebula Browser, you can use NAT in a Windows OS or Nebula but you should edit one emulation preset at time without copy/paste information.

I originally asked about catagorizing and organizing my librarys 3party etc, support pointed me to this direction!

If you don't have second HDD/SDD

I dont know what u mean by this-
what is a second HDD/SDD?
hdd is hard disk drive..whats SDD?

will an "ordinary" external USB! hard disk drive WORK as second?
--->librarys are quite big file size so I want to know above, because if a secondry usb type drive would work I would check into this to free up space!

support stated "subfolders would not work", so
FOLDER CREATED FOR NEBULA LIBRARIES

this then makes no sense to me....

I reiterate for now, I want to categorise by third party developer my librarys and was told subfolder does not work....

I also asked where can you get NAT
you can use NAT in a Windows OS or Nebula

what do you mean by
or Nebula

how do you do this-&change tages? for better personal descriptions

I will reread your above response and try and make sense of it but right now IM still a bit confused!

You can do it in Nebula and in NAT. Is less time consuming do it in NAT.

hdd is hard disk drive..whats SDD?

Sorry, typo error. It is a SSD, that means solid stage disk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive)

will an "ordinary" external USB! hard disk drive WORK as second?

Yes will work, you also can host your libraries in a NAS with Wifi connection, the important thing is to write the correct path. Depending the velocity of the bus/technology Nebula will take more or less time in load your emulation presets. I suggest you a SATA3/SSD instead of a USB2/HDD.

this then makes no sense to me....

Folder structure example:
.AALibrary
..MagentaLibrary
...Vectors
...Programs
..RedLibrary
...Vectors
...Programs

Alternative data path example (this will work)
<ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH> EXTUSBHDD/AALibrary/MagentaLibrary/ </ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH>
<ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH> EXTUSBHDD/AALibrary/RedLibrary/ </ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH>"

Alternative data path example (this will NOT work)

<ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH> EXTUSBHDD/AALibrary/ </ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH>

how do you do this-&change tages? for better personal descriptions

Nebula > PROG > EDIT

okay so when you say SSD,
is EXTERNAL-USB satisfactory, I presuming this is fine
but Im not sure?

When You say write the complete path, is this to be done mutiple times in a text edit program-for each developer and each unique library????

example <alternativedatapath etc etc CDSM>
<alternativedatapath etc etc STN>
<alternativedatapath etc etc CUPWISE>
<etc>
<etc>
with the remaining xml text info->
<PROGRAMSUBPATH> Programs/ </PROGRAMSUBPATH>
<VECTORSUBPATH> Vectors/ </VECTORSUBPATH>
<SETUPSUBPATH> Setups/ </SETUPSUBPATH>
<CACHESUBPATH> Temp/ </CACHESUBPATH>
<SKINSUBPATH> Skins/ </SKINSUBPATH>
<SETUPROMNAME> Rom.xml </SETUPROMNAME>
<SKINNAME> OverwriteMe.N2S </SKINNAME>
<DICTIONARYSUBPATH> Dictionaries/ </DICTIONARYSUBPATH>
<DICTIONARYROMNAME> Rom.xml </DICTIONARYROMNAME>
<WORKBUFFER> 32768 </WORKBUFFER>
<DSPBUFFER> 128 </DSPBUFFER>
<METERTYPE> 4 </METERTYPE>
<PROGRAMRATE> 2000 </PROGRAMRATE>
<EXPORTAUDIOQUALITY> 1 </EXPORTAUDIOQUALITY>
<FORCEOFFSET> 1500 </FORCEOFFSET>
<LTIMED> 10000 </LTIMED>
<LFREQD> 20000 </LFREQD>
<GUIRATE> 30000 </GUIRATE>
<HDIM> 10 </HDIM>
<HDIMMAX> 10 </HDIMMAX>
<BPMDEFAULT> 127000 </BPMDEFAULT>
<AHEADLENGTH> 1500 </AHEADLENGTH>
<SCANBOOT> 1 </SCANBOOT>
<RATECONVERSION> 4500000 </RATECONVERSION>
<FONTCOLOUR> 0 </FONTCOLOUR>
<AUTOTHREAD> 0 </AUTOTHREAD>
<NODROP> 0 </NODROP>
<FIXEDQUALITY> 0 </FIXEDQUALITY>
<SERVERADDRESS> . </SERVERADDRESS>
<SERVERPORT> 6000 </SERVERPORT>
<MODE> 0 </MODE>
</MASTER>

->all above left "untouched"?? as is etc
You never answered my query -> I use Nebula audiounit predominatly
"nebulareverb"

In mac>library>audio>plugins>components
..there is xml for nebula and nebula reverb

also I have a vst folder(but I dont use vst as currently use logic 9)
inside vst folder is nebula & nebula64-inside each is nebula and nebula reverbxml's

do you have to do all this renaming for each xml or will anyone do??
-considering I use AU in logic 9.....

Im not sure will I follow this through yet but it be nice to know how to do it properly in case I decide I want to

thanks

ps is a dedicated xml editor easier for the above job or is it just as hard as using a text editor?

SSD is a solid state disk, external disks can be magnetic or solid state disk. SSD are faster than magnetic disk. Thunderbolt v2 and SATA3 are faster than USB2. Obviously your are free to use it.

When You say write the complete path, is this to be done mutiple times in a text edit program-for each developer and each unique library?

Example of relative path:

Temp/

Example of complete path:

EXTUSBHDD/AALibrary/MagentaLibrary/

->all above left "untouched"?

Yes.

VST and AU use independent MAST page, .XML files. Edit all or only what you need.

In mac>library>audio>plugins>components
..there is xml for nebula and nebula reverb

Yes. From 1.3.811 you will have four .XML files due 32 and 64 bits builds.

also I have a vst folder(but I dont use vst as currently use logic 9)

Copy/paste between simple text files is available in all OS X OSs.

is a dedicated xml editor easier for the above job or is it just as hard as using a text editor?

Could be is you know how to use it. We use in Windows side Notepad++ portable version.

Is it ok to use spaces in the path ? i.e. if my drive's name is :

"Hard Drive 2",

Will it work or do I need to write "Hard20%Drive20%2"?
