How many instances of Nebula in 96K?

Postby superhero81 » Sat Sep 13, 2014 12:07 am

Hi everyone,
I usually work in 48K, but I am curious as to how many instances of Nebula I can run in a project working at 64 bit and 96K?

My comp. Specs are:
Amd Quad Core 3.4ghz
8 gigs ddr3 ram
500GB SSD drive which my DAW and Plugins are install to.
WD Black 1TB 7200rpm Drive which all my data is stored on.
Sonar X3 64 bit

Thanks

in you case, exactly half than now. Obviously if you run a proper i7, around 100 @ 44, so not more than 50-60 @ 96. I'm speaking about desktop single esa cores.

I changed the buffer rate in the MAST page from 512 to 2048.
I can get at least 16 instances running in 96K.
Is there any harm, loss of quality, or anything negative in changing it to 2048?
Thanks

I sometimes recommend certain buffer settings as longer kernal lengths will force the program rate up on higher buffer settings. I have these recommendations on my website, however I cannot speak for other presets created by other dev's.

My phasers and ms10 envelope are particularly sensitive to this.

Besides crank up the buffer and daw nebula, it is appropriate to change the number of kernels ?? And we have to modify some parameter over the master page to be able to mix with the maximum nebula instances??

Thanks

thanks giancarlo !!! I might add that once made the mixture, when rendering the stereo track, we could suplentar nebula reverb instance, for an instance of nebula and the kernels to the fullest. This is correct, no ?? I do not want to misinform you superhero81 companion.
