Authorisation?? not clear how

Postby kickitup11 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 3:05 pm

I downloaded the new update, installed it, choose the right folder for it, then it made an extra {acustica} folder, so I had 2 nebula vst's, so I uninstalled.
Installed the full installer.
Now it needs authorisation.
So I check the manual online and proceed.
I get an email about it that sais;
run the installer; there is no installer in the download
so I can do it manually here's the info;

Manual installation: manually overwrite INIT.N2V demo file with the INIT.N2V that you have received in this email, the path is: ../NebulaX/Vectors; manually overwrite INIT.N2P demo file with the INIT.N2V that you have received in this email, the path is: ../NebulaX/Programs.

Does anybody what location I can find;
../NebulaX/Vectors

I use W7

Thanks in advance

just upload you nebula3.ser file in your dashboard, you'll receive a key installer, that's all.

Hi Giancarlo,

I already did that, the problems came afterwards.
It's solved now by help in Gearslutz forum.

This was the problem;
I got your email about it that sais;
run the installer; there is no installer in the download
so I can do it manually here's the info;

The solution is just replacing the files in the;

C:\nebulatemprepository\Programs (and Vectors) folder
Why didn't your email give this info?

It took me an hour and a half.

Hello kickitup11

Software and plug-in installation in Windows
Nebula is build in an installer setup that will ask for two main folders. First installer will ask for VST plug-ins folder path and second will ask you for the plug-in support installation folder path called normally NebulaTempRepository. You are free to choose both folders but you should use the same location always with version upgrades in order to avoid errors or issues.

1.
NebulaX/Programs = NebulaTempRepository/Programs
NebulaX/Vectors = NebulaTempRepository/Vectors

IMPORTANT: Nebula VST plug-in will be copied in the selected VST folder path but inside a folder called Acustica for x86 installations and Acustica64 for x64 installations.

2.
Seems you are version upgrading for an old version 1.3.4xx, 5xx or 6xx in a 64 bits OS. Check .DLL files dates, probably Acustica folder will have older files, rename from .DLL to OLD to avoid your sequencer to trying to load.
Best regards,
Enrique Silveti.

Hi, thanks.
1.I did not know that;
NebulaX/Programs = NebulaTempRepository/Programs
NebulaX/Vectors = NebulaTempRepository/Vectors

It would have saved me quite some time.

2. I had Nebula3 bundle installed, the most recent one, the one before this new update.

I would welcome a clear installation proces in which I can choose exactly how I install the update version,
So it doesn't make a new Acustica folder, but just puts the nebula.dll and nebula reverb.dll in my
vstplugins/acustica folder where the earlier version is located.
Now I had;
vstplugins/acustica/acustica after the update installation with the older nebula in folder 1 and the new in folder 2.
Then I decided to completely uninstall and do a full install and then the authorisation trouble began.
I have updated without trouble this year; the earlier updates.
Thanks again.

there is one thing in the installer, you have to keep in mind (it has always been that way!).
do not choose the acustica folder inside your vstplugins folder for updates! you have to use the one "above", where the acustica folder resides and the updateinstaller will then place it inside the right folder.
i know this is not intuitive, it took me some time to remember that, but it is so ...
i saw many stumble over that over the years.
maybe it is time to make it more errorprone.

Hi Mathias,

thank you! That's very clear. I tried it in two ways and could not get it right.
Earlier updates this years went well. It's just hard to remember these things.
I will copy your post to check next time.
Tho I would prefer the installer to let you choose the folder without making an extra folder in it.
