Postby kommissar » Thu Dec 19, 2013 8:52 pm

Hi I was wondering if rtas support is coming or if I should go ahead and just get the FX expansion adapter?

thanks

Depends on your system. PT 10? 11? OSX? PC? etc...

Even if you are still on Pro Tools 8 or 9 that only supported RTAS, I think you are better off getting something like Nomad Factory's MAGMA that can load VST plug-ins like Nebula. I tried the VST to RTAS wrapper with Pro Tools 8 and 9 and it did not work well with Nebula at all. There are other options for RTAS/AAX compatible plug-ins that load VST programs, such as Blue Cat Audio PathWork.

I don't think Acustica will ever support RTAS since it is an unsupported format. Maybe they are considering AAX support, but I have not seen any word on that.

I have MAGMA and use it in Pro Tools 10 and 11 and it works just fine.

We would like to try RTAS or AAX but Avid never give us the toolkit.
