OS X: x64 for Nebula3 Free but not Nebula3 Pro?

Postby swartzfeger » Tue Oct 15, 2013 12:36 pm

I just authorized my Nebula3 Pro license and everything is running ok on my Mac (OS X 10.8).

When I downloaded my files, I installed Nebula3 Free 1.3.502 first, then Nebula3 Free 1.3.602 next, and then I updated finally with Nebula3 Pro 1.3.602.

One thing I noticed: Nebula3 Free contains a x64 installer; Nebula3 Pro does **not**. This doesn't make sense, shouldn't the x64 be available in Mac Nebula3 Pro 1.3.602 as well?

Where I stand now -- I can run Nebula3 Free in Logic X using FrankydT/Gege's method, but I can't run Nebula3 Pro since it doesn't include x64.

Is there a reason for this? Am I missing something? Thanks!

Nebula3 is a demo of Nebula3 Pro Server bundle, both are OSX VST x64. Nebula3 Pro Bundle is not OSX VST x64 only x86.

... anyway this is a temporary solution, we will extend to nebula3 pro users but I think you should wait a bit.

I think after reading your post, and looking in my Acustica64 folder, I understand now.

There are really only two versions -- Free, and Server. Pro is simply a limited version of Server (controlled via the INIT file). So in the Acustica64 folder (or any plugin folder), users would only see two different naming styles -- Nebula3Free, and Nebula3.

So as it stands now, even though I have a Pro license, I can't run 3rd party libs in Logic X using FrankydT/Gege's method, since I'm currently using the Nebula3Free x64.

It doesn't matter anyway, though, since I plan on upgrading to Server in a few days. Thanks!

How about you do everyone a favour and scrap nebula pro.

Lets us all upgrade to server for £20 then and then rename it just Nebula.

Then we have just two versions Nebula (Paid) and Nebula Free.

No complications its straight forward and easy to understand.

Save yourself time coding and save us all time waiting for 64bit.

Done!

To be honest a free upgrade would be better it saves me getting up every morning and coming onto this forum and to see if 64 bit is out for pro and then me getting pissed off at the company.

I'm sure I'm not the only one pissed off by this.

I honestly don't feel like giving any more money to this company.

You should either give the upgrade to server for free or really discount it.
