Nebula Hardware

Postby jdieks » Mon Oct 14, 2013 11:17 pm

Hey Guys,

I have only been (re)using Nebula for some weeks (and love it, allthough it's still (too) heavy for my 3930k), but in a newsletter post I read that there's a Nebula Hardware comming up.
Is there any timeframe for a release?
Will it run on a realtime OS or a striped version of Linux or something?
How many plugins will it be able to run at what latencies? (will it have 10GB ethernet for example?)

Thanks for any information :)

yes we'll start in 2014, italy (and europe) will be the first country/ies, then we'll look for local distributors. We were able to open 56 alexb console programs, and around 112 init instances

Cool, thanks for the info..

And will it use regular GB ethernet? So if you would buy a server grade (multi port) 1GB adapter you can use multiple boxes?

Do you have an approximate price that would cost this hardware so I can start saving? :)

here is the newsletter info

Nebula Hardware announced

Starting from this 09/07/2013 Antonello and I will start working part-time for Acustica Audio.
At the moment we are working on Nebula Hardware, a sort of hardware version of nebula (well.. an i7 PC featuring a particular and fast latency/fast loading version of nebula server based on a new core, inside a rack chassis).

yes we have it, but it's a bit too much early.
For sure it will feature libraries which will not exist elsewhere, so it will be worth the price just for them alone. It's a windows machine, preinstalled with libraries and pre-configured and you will not able to access it. It will feature a special release of our server engine which makes downloading and instance startup rather fast.

would this be able to run in "real-time" (with a low enough latency to track through)?
