nebula loading time OSX

Postby devilfish » Sat Oct 06, 2012 5:03 pm

hello,

i have searched the forums but couldn't find a clear answer for my problem regarding osx.

i have gathered quite a lot of presets last months and my nebula is loading slower and slower.

i was messing with the scan boot parameter, when i set it to 1 nebula loads very slow but it recognises all my presets.

when i set it on 0 nebula loads fast but it doesn't recognize any presets. I thought nebula would write the preset list in scanboot.xml and TEMP folder in 1 mode so it just reads that file when scan boot is 0? (ie it doesn't search for new programs in 0 mode but it does load previously scanned programs) apparently this doens't work...

i know we can make different vst versions for different librairies so loading speeds up, but this is not possible with audiounits on osx.(i tried with vst and couldn't get it to work on osx either)

any osx users have ideas or suggestions for decreasing load time? i have an ssd disk but that doesn't help much. thanks! (i'm on sl 10.6.8)

MAST page name: LOADER PR
Master .XML name: LOADERPRIORITY
Factory value (in Master .XML): 3
Guru extra information: This parameter is used for troubleshooting.
