i installed the new 1.3.502 x64 PC nebula version and new patches supplied by Mplay.

i am testing it with the original FATE COMP (not new protected version, don't know if there is any difference)

good news, the range parameter works as expected as a sidechain highpass filter. now sounds with deep bass can be effected without terrible artifacts!

bad news, as soon as you turn up the MAKP makeupgain the Reduction meter now also is increased by the same amount. If you were getting 2 dB gain reduction with the threshold, add 10dB makeup and now the reduction reads 12 dB

Could anyone tell me what the 'Range' control is used for?

Thanks.

It is a high pass filter for compressor use.
Once you choose the range at such as 150 Hz, compressor will compress the signal except those frequencies below 150Hz.

Stupid question maybe but does the sidechain filter still only work for the S programs?

To my ears the filter do work on the none S- programs.
Is this correct?
