My personal experience: i7 to save your days.
Can't have enough nebulas :)

Don't have any experience of i5 but but when got i7 everything changed completely; no more rendering!

I run two i7 2600k side by side. I spend about 1200 on each machine. they have 16gb of ram each and run SSD for nebula.. I am VERY happy running one as the nebula server. I usually mix at 1024 samples and I have NO problem running ALL the reverbs and consoles I want in real time. God bless nehalem

Do you think you could share what is a real trackcount for Nebula with let's say, AlexB consoles on a 2600K?
I mean, I can run something like 6-8 consoles on a Duo Core and could run 12-14 on a Quad 2.4, both running MacOS :D

I would like to know what is an expectable track count with AlexB consoles on a 2600K and a 2500K...
