Nebula Pro 3 with Nvidia Tesla

Postby dwagrimm » Fri Jun 24, 2011 10:51 pm

Is the Nvidia Tesla C2070 GPU a good solution to work with Nebula Pro 3?

http://www.nvidia.com/object/personal-s ... uting.html

What is possible with the max. of 4 Tesla C2070 GPU`s and Nebula 3 in 96 kHz and huge libraries like Alex B`s? Is this a good way to work excessive with Nebula? A good solution for money? Is any body out there with an answer?

Thanks and respect.

for alexb libraries you should wait for purecuda implementation..

Hi Giancarlo, thanks a lot for your message. But please do you have an idea what the nvidia tesla can perform in combination with nebula (purecuda)? How you know I have to buy a new, stronger computer now and I want an up to date powerful system. Are up to 4 nvidia tesla gpu a solution or "much to much"? Thanks.

alexb libraries would be useless because
1) nebula supports only device 0 (a random device)
2) you need kernels longer than 150 ms (so reverbs).

so you should wait for next implementation before buying expensive tesla card. Anyway they WILL work, we are developing code right now just for that.

So.........

Is the pure cuda thing not going to happen because its to difficult . I just need to know before i go down the server route. I already have a server running but its not powerful enough for what i want to do, so that means more servers. my dream is to running nebula at lower latancys for more accuracy .

So how's the progress on Purecuda?
I never looked into this technology,
but 448 cores on a Tesla-card sounds quite
attractive.
