Nebula crackles with Protools

Postby wakevortex » Mon Jun 20, 2011 2:58 pm

Hi there - I have nebula server version 1.3.495 running as 64 bit on windows 7/64 and Protools 9 HD (32 bit)
When loading only ONE nebula instance in the master bus in a fairly big session (wrapped with fxpansion wrapper) it makes protools very crackly for example when scrolling, and after stopping the transport i get a crackly repeat of what just played.
I have tried
With server running
Without server
With Jbridged nebula
all the same
I attach the master page of nebula..have I got some settings wrong?, as this is pretty unworkable with just ONE nebula..Im sure it should be better than this :-)
The program loaded in nebula is Modern Black console MBC MBM
thanks

Change DSPBUFFER value to 2048. Click on SAVE and reload.

Thanks Enrique..

2048 , thats surely over 2 SECONDS latency?

Protools will not compensate for that on a session even when mixing in maximum ADC mode...
So if I insert on anything other than the mix buss , I will have a problem...or am i not understanding what you mean?

any help appreciated

Any more on this? 2048 ms latency is a showstopper for me...?

thanks

At present, PT is obviouly not a good platform to work with nebula, you may consider to add one more Daw to your working list....

Using 2048 ms dsp buffer certainly helps, but can ONLY be put in a mix buss track (its too latent for PT to compensate for the HUGE delay in busses or tracks) ...can someobody plse help as to how I can use this without the huge latency in protools HD? Will the new server version help?

Would appreciate some feedback, as this is very dissapointing performance

cheers

Good to hear Giancarlo! is it just protools that has a problem with nebula..? I see lots of people on here mixing with it..this is impossible with the protools situation ? Is there anything that can be done to help get more instances?
(the 2048 ms is not workable as mentioned)
thanks

PT 10 is probably going to improved to full latency compensation....I think that will really help indeed.
