Installation of the 32- and 64-bit version at the same time

Postby dloncar » Thu Jul 12, 2012 12:41 pm

Hello,

with reference to Nebula installations of the 32-bit and 64-bit version at the same time on a Win7 64-bit System (I am using 2 vst hosts of which one still uses 32-bit mode only, that´s the reason why I did not migrate to 64-bit competely and need both version of Nebula on the same system):

Are two different nebulatemprepository folders required? Or is it possible for both the 64-bit and the 32-bit plug-in to share one nebulatemprepository folder?

Thanks!

You can use the same nebulatemprepository folder for both.
i7 3770k :: Asus P8H77-V LE :: 16Gb DDR3 @1600MHz :: Geforce GT 520 :: OCZ-Vertex 128Gb :: WD Black Series 1Tb and Green Series 1Tb :: F*******e Liquid56 :: REAPER 64bit and StudioOne 64bit (both latest versions) :: Win 10 64bit

in the meantime i unfortuntaley created 2 support folders (nebulatemprepositoryx64 for the 64bit version). now i don´t want to uninstall/install the 64 bit version again, what files do I have to edit to redirect the 64bit plug-ins to the nebulatemprepository folder? is there also a windows registry key involved? if so, what is the string/name of that windows registry key?

OK, I have found out how to change the datapath of the nebulatemprepository. in the acustica 64 bit vst plug-in folder there are two xml files storing that info:

Nebula3CoreII64 Reverb.xml & Nebula3CoreII64.xml

in both xml files the line containing the <DATAPATH> tag has to be edited to the desired direction.

then I have searched the windows registry for nebulatemprepositoryx64 (the folder I´ve created and named while installation of the 64 bit neb plug-in)

and found a string storing nebulatemprepositoryx64 under

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acusticaudio\Nebula]

so I changed "SUPPDIR"="e:\\nebulatemprepository"

Voila. Done.
