Cubase x64 & Nebula3_PRO crash

Postby Dr.Duda » Mon May 03, 2010 11:00 pm

Hello Nebulas,

(EDIT: Works fine now!!! see Screenshot below)

"I got a Problem with Nebula3 & Cubase 5.1.1 on Win7x64!
I can use up to 48 (or more) while mixing, BUT when I save the Project and reload it Cubase crash when loading the Nebula-Group-Tracks.
Some Infos about my System:
-Asus P6Tse
-i7 920
-12Gig Ram
-RME Multiface

Then I reproduced the crash with following Repro:

1) Create 16 Groups in Cubase
2) Insert 4 Nebula3 Instances e.g. VintageEQI
3) use the "Copy Channel" Function (left Side on the Mixer)
4) Paste the Channel to the other 15 Group Tracks.
5) WAIT... :D
-->after about 10 Groups cubase crash :o "

I try to do the same thing with Reaper x64 and the Nebula3Pro x64. --> Same Result! Reaper Crashed after I created Track 8 with 4 Nebula Instances.

I love the sound of Nebula but I can´t use it the way I want. That mkes me sad.
I´m using Nebula 1.3.401 x64 does it make sense to try an older Vesion?

I tested Reaper x64 with 70 instances of nebula x64 (console , tape & eq) few weeks ago , ...It's also fine while reloading.

Does this only happen on Group tracks? What if you do the same with a normal track?

I tested Cubase 5 last week with a max 58 Nebula instances on stereo tracks & the project re-opened fine.....but this was with no groups.
I also have a real world project running now with maybe 25-30 instances of which half are on groups & this also opens & runs fine.

64 bit Win7, 32bit Cubase. 12Gb Ram.

No, not only Group Tracks. It just depends on the Number of Instances. I turned Hyper Threding on & Off --> no change!
Tried all Puffer settings no change.
Maybe its my Ram, I´ve bought 3 single 2Gig Memory & 1 tested pair of 3 2Gig Memory. (Kinston Value Ram)
But I used the Win7 Ram test Tool. --> No Problems!
