Upgrade_Nebula3_Server_1.3.495

Postby sneaky » Tue Jun 14, 2011 8:12 am

Hallo.
This upgrade pushes cpu usage up to three times that used by .486 in the same reaper project. Constant skipping/distortion:

Downgrading back to .486 makes it usable again, in the same project. 7 clients in a single 96k project. Nice:

What should I do to make the upgrade work? Clean install? Is this by design/my fault/whatever. How to fix pls
Cheers

the version is the same as before, with minor fixes and corrections. We changed only the configuration file because computers are now faster and people is demanding for a lower latency; the configuration file is updated automatically. Nebula server starts with a low DSPBUFFER (automatic, before it was 8192 and now it's often around 512, so the cpu usage could be increased a lot), high RATE CNV (4.5 seconds and not 25 ms), fast refresh rate (30 ms and not 80 ms), long FFT kernels (6 seconds and not 2), high number of harmonics (10 and not 5).

I suggest to increase DSPBUFFER, push SAVE and reload.

Geez indeed

Why not at least include a basic changelog with each update? Even if it wan't comprehensive but referenced critical points like this.

That is what I was after here http://www.acustica-audio.com/index.php?option=com_rokdownloads&view=file&Itemid=194&id=295:upgrade-nebula3-server-win-x86-1-3. but the forum serves the same purpose I guess.Giancarlo is happy to help.
Strikes me that a new or clean install should do this - set defaults to requested standards - but upgrades should simply copy settings across to the new version. but then Im not in charge. :)

I'm trying to update now but get a message that the installer could not write C:Windows/System32/ippcore-5.1.dll.

I looked in the system32 folder & I don't have that file.

Any ideas?
