anyone know of a program that can do this?

Postby Cupwise » Mon Jul 09, 2012 2:44 am

this is definitely not on topic with the sub-forum, but since it seems the more technical minded people come here a lot, maybe someone can help me.

i need a program that can cut a desired amount of time from a lot of .wav files, quickly and without much hassle. so basically a batch editor.

sox can do this but i can't figure out how to get it to do batches in win7. i really wish that program had a gui...

Same time for each file or different times?

where do you want the time to be cut from beginning or end?

yes, it would be the same amount of time for all.

it would actually be useful if i could cut from both the beginning and the end. even if it took two separate passes..

also important is that i could use it with 32 bit and 64bit files, and they would come out the same bit depth.

Have you tried Audition's batch processing? -you can capture any series of actions as a "favorite" and apply it to a group of files. It has a fully functional trial version.

yes, i've tried audition, and it would be perfect except that it converts 64bit wavs to 32bit.
unless they fixed that in the very latest version (i kind of doubt it).

I have the latest trial version and it outputs 64bit files properly. You do need to choose the output bit depth, so your 32bit files will end up as 64bit files too (if you choose the later).

looking at the trial, i'm not 100% sure audition is actually fully handling the files at 64bit from beginning to end.
