Working @88kHz (SRC quality?)

Postby rods » Thu Jul 05, 2012 4:24 pm

Hi, I noticed that some libraries recorded at 96kHz are tested and "tuned" to work acuratly at 44kHz and 48kHz. Why not at 88kHz?
Is there any problem working with a 96kHz/44.1kHz library in 88kHz projects?
Thanks

Audio SRC is enough good now. You can record at 48 or 96 kHz and then SRC your final master to 88.2 or 44.1 kHz if you need, CDA production for example. 48 and 96 kHz sample rate will be the standard for the next coming decades.

Hi Enrique, thanks a lot for the answer.
My question is not about recording at 44,1kHz, 48kHz or 88kHz. It is about the quality of libraries that were created at 96kHz or 44,1kHz and now I use in 88kHz projects. Does the quality (Nebula engine and Library result) remains good in all sample rate frequencies? And why some libraries are only tested at 44,1kHz and 96kHz.

Thanks

The quality should be similar. But in my opinion try to record and work at 48 kHz or 96 kHz. 96 kHz library will work enough good at those SR due the SRC to 48 kHz is a simple 1/2. Try to don't run libraries at 44.1 kHz, and yes, AITB should update a lot of libraries to 96 kHz.
