Manual for Server, please

Postby Vando » Mon Apr 04, 2011 10:53 am

Could we possibly have step by step instructions for installing the Server/Local Server!?!
I've been trying to find information how to do it but all I've found is bits and pieces scattered in various topics in this jungle called Forum.
I managed to get the free version to work, but haven't been able to do so with the pro version.
It's a bit frustrating and at the moment it looks like I'd better uninstall everything and start all over again.
A good old fashioned manual please!

well, if you didn't use alternativedatapath, you should just install it, period. Than you launch localserver before starting your host.

If you want to use tcp/ip settings things are a bit different. At the moment we are not providing support officially, anyway if you contact me we could check your settings togheter.

As soon as a proper mac osx localserver/server is out we'll start providing a sort of basic documentation.

Unfortunately I use alternativedatapath. So, what's the next step?

I'm progressing little by little; now I can get NebReverb Local Server in Cubase and Neb Local Server in Wavelab. No lan Server found yet.
The only strange thing is that when it is Local Server it shows only a few programs. Actually the the same as in Neb3Free demo. I suppose it's got something to do with the alternativedatapath.
Why is it only one (nebreverb or normal)at a time I have no idea, but I will continue my investigations tomorrow. Hopefully somebody knows about these things a little bit more than me and tells me what to do.

Everything is quite all right now. Still don't know how to make Server and Local server work at the same time. It would be nice to have them on simultaneously.
Is there a limit how many slaves you can use?

you can configure as many as you want, just change the port number both on server and client side. Each client is linked to a server.
Ok, ask me what you need to know exactly (explain your configuration) and I'll teach about main steps...

I'm a musician, I don't understand too much about computers and english is not my native language, so my first question is what do you mean by configuration?
