Gates and Nebula

Postby Tim Petherick » Fri Apr 01, 2011 12:19 am

Didn't know which catagory to post this in .

In the future engines will it possible to sample gates?
The plug in world needs a good gate and I havn't heard anything come close to a analog gate yet!

Anybody else found a decent gate yet?

for tasks like this, where it is especially about fast and accurate detection and action, i always use good digital gates. i don't know if this is a domain where nebula would shine.

are you not content with the results of other gates?
which ones do you use?

mathias
system 1: windows 8 32 bit - samplitude prox, tracktion6, reaper
system 2: mac osx yosemite - reaper(32+64bit), tracktion6(32+64bit)

both systems on: macbook pro (late 2009), core 2 duo 3,06 ghz, 4 gb ram, graphic: nvidia geforce 9600M GT 512 MB

oh, i overlooked your question :D

i use the gate from psp mixpack 2, which has a great toolset and get good results (but i am not so much into drumrecording/mixing). there is a demo available.

sometimes i use the one incorporated in voxengos voxformer, which has some sophisticated multibandoptions under the hood, but it needs time to adjust and understand, outside the presets.

Sonalksis is supposed to be porting their gate to 64bit native.

Hello Tim. A fabulous guys from Amsterdam are developing a top quality pro gate, there are in beta3 level, will be release soon, keep you wallet ready.

You can sample non lineal behavior an add it a Nebula instance before gate it using a a preamp session.
