I'm having lots of fun with reapers ability to make any compressor multi-band (js:3bandsplitter) and M/S (js kanaka).

this is great news!

the new browser is brilliant too. much better. THANKS.

seems like the long cross platform work to let all the mac people in is done, and now its back to developing nebula again... hurray!!!!!! :D

does anyone know if there is a way to get cubase 4.5 STUDIO to use this new sidechain? it seems not to have quadro channels :(

i think the best and most common use of a sidechain is to just have a variable or fixed HPF. this is very important for mastering, esp dance music. would be a dream on snap compressor!

would it be possible to just have a switch that toggles on and off a HPF at 120hz (or variable) on a built in sidechain in nebula? this would make it very quick and easy to opperate, and help the poor people who can't afford the best version of cubase or have a modular host :)

if not, no worries, very happy you are working on features again.

no switch. On a quadro bus you just add your preferred filter.... so maximum flexibility up to you.
All cubendos should support natively quadro channels, it's a common speaker arrangement type.

So let me get this right!

Usually compressors use port 1/2 to process the audio in the current track they are inserted and use port 3/4 for the external source (sidechain source) other tracks as input etc.

By sidechained filters you mean we can alter the trigger signal (frequency which activates gain reduction) but are they gonna work only on ports 3/4 (external input) or 1/2 (internal input) too?

sorry for the confusion, inputs 3 and 4 could be used for triggering an envelope follower which could drive other parameters related to audio 1 and 2, for example cutoff or resonance. Anyway your idea could be good for implementing de-essers. We need an other module for that

WOW! I haven't thought about de-essing i was only thinking about basic stuff like compressing drums or bass but using a sidechained hipass filter to leave any desired low fundamental/color frequencies untouched.

But now that you mentioned it, Nebula could probably achieve a superior and pleasant de-essing compared to all other plugs out there! This could be seriously amazing!
