i use 44.1 now due to cpu, but my next pc this spring will be a sandy bridge i7. then i will be wanting to use only 96 native sampled librarys as i will change all new projects to 96
the ultimate solution is that NAT is made to sample at both sample rates automatically!! then library developers could make a native version for 44.1 and 96 without too much bother.
if that is not easy, why not run two copies of nat running the same template at 44.1 and 96. just switch between them and hit sample each time you change the EQ or device setting? i don't really know what i am talking about here... just an idea.
I switch between 48 and 96 depending on the project. If I anticipate a high number of tracks, 48 just to boost performance a little bit. Fewer tracks or something that I know is being pressed to vinyl, 96.
what this poll clearly shows is that most people are unsecure or indifferent to sample rate conversion, otherwise there wouldn't only be half the votes for the way people deal with this than for the preferred sample rate they are working in. i don't believe that this state of mind is a good one.
