Nebula MAST page F.A.Q.

Nebula MAST page provides information about the global master settings. Displayed immediately below the status bar is the Nebula version number and release description. Nebula master settings are saved in a .XML file with the same name that .DLL file. Nebula .XML master file has some extra settings that are not shown in MAST page.

Parameter name: Version
Description: This parameter show the version of Nebula and the Audio CORE version.

Parameter name: Magic number
Description: The magic number is the Steinberg VST ID.

Guru extra information: Nebula magic number is 12gd for x86 and 4822 for x64. Nebula Reverb magic number is o010 for x86 and 4627 for x64. Some host can not recognize different names of plug-ins and use only the Steinberg VST ID.

Description: This parameter allows switch between guru master mode and simple master mode.

Parameter name: Program rate
Description: When edited this parameter overrides the settings of the currently loaded emulation program. This setting represents the period used by Nebula for recalculating all internal synthesis parameters and controls.

Parameter name: Force offset
Description: When a program is loaded, every waveform is "peak-synchronized". Offset defines the distance between the start of the waveform and the peak position, it is expressed in milliseconds.

Guru extra information: For small values the transient section of the kernel could potentially be windowed in a wrong way.

Parameter name: Look-ahead buffer
Description: This parameter controls the look-ahead buffer used by compressor and dynamic emulation programs in general. It is expressed in milliseconds.

Guru extra information: Increasing this parameter will increase latency.

Parameter name: Kernels
Description: This parameter defines the upper bound limit for the number of kernels reproduced by Nebula.

Description: If enabled, Nebula will look for new programs when initialized.

Parameter name: Boot priority
Description: If disabled Nebula will load slower, at a suboptimal rate, and the built-in diagnostic steps will be visible. The diagnostic will be launched at start-up time, every time the plug-in is loaded.

Parameter name: Frozen Boot
Description: This parameter disable Nebula to load single emulation preset .XML files from temp folder.

Guru extra information: Value 1 will enable Frozen Boot parameter and value 0 will disable it. When Frozen Boot is enable Nebula will not read single emulation preset .XML files from temp folder anymore.

Parameter name: Ghost mode
Description: This parameter enable a mode for minimizes audio drop-outs for every kind of long sized kernels programs like reverberation.

Guru extra information: With ghost mode the host could display a wrong CPU load but I don't suggest to turn ghost mode off. The host will report the correct CPU load but you'll get more spikes, especially on slow systems.

Parameter name: Meters type
Description: Meter are Nebula headroom indicators. There are four supported modes: EVF, EVF 17, VU and True RMS 17.

Parameter name: Time dimension limit
Description: This number defines the upper bound limit for the TIMED length. It is expressed in milliseconds.

Guru extra information: This parameter is may be used to optimize the CPU load on slow systems.

Parameter name: Frequency dimension limit
Description: This parameter defines the upper bound limit for the FREQD length. It is expressed in seconds.

Description: This parameter defines the frequency rate at which the graphical user interface is refreshed (meters, display, slider bridges).

Parameter name: Rate conversion
Description: This parameter sets the upper bound limit for the sample rate conversion action. It is expressed in milliseconds.

Guru extra information: This parameter is used for optimizing the loading time on slow systems.

Parameter name: DSP buffer
Description: This parameter defines the internal DSP buffer size and it is expressed in bytes.

Guru extra information: Nebula detect the correct DSP buffer size on the first run depending the ASIO DSP buffer value. If Nebula deliver a choppy sound increase this value to double.

Parameter name: Quality
Description: This parameter is used by Nebula at rendering time, when the user exports audio tracks or bounces them. This feature only works if the host program (sequencer) provides notification of its internal status.

Description: This parameter define the internal buffer of audio core calculations used by Nebula.

Parameter name: dB protection
Description: Nebula audio engine can't go louder than +3dB. When output is louder it's "silenced" automatically. It's silenced only for samples which are louder than the protection value, so you get a sort of intermittent sound.

Guru extra information: Actual default value when the key is not specified is exactly +3dB, use this parameter for reverting to old original behavior when protection was tuned to +24dB.

Description: this parameter enable or disable side chain support that is based into 4 channel schema.

Guru extra information: some legacy host does not support side chain feature. If your host doesn't support multichannel inputs you may disable changing the value to 0.

ABOUT:
Clicking on this button displays the about page.

SAVE:
Clicking on this button saves the current master and MIDI configuration settings to the hard-disk, overriding the original master settings file. This operation cannot be undone, so be careful.

T:
Starts stress test mode. Useful only for beta testers and 3rd developers.


. The symbol * indicates that changes made to the parameter will take effect next time the plug-in is booted.

. Blinking exclamation point indicates that the selected optimization algorithm mode is not available.
