How to register and authorize Nebula
Tip applicable to:
Product(s): Nebula3, Nebula3 Pro, Nebula3 Server.
OS(s): Windows, OSX.
Plug-in format(s): VST, AU, AAX.
Plug-in architecture(s): 32 bits, 64 bits.


Introduction
Acustica Audio products use a protection based into challenge–response authentication system. Nebula and Acqua Effects, after loaded in your audio host, boot and load an default emulation preset, then run a computer identification code versus installed product license verification.
In order to full unlock your Acustica Audio product(s) you must perform three main steps: product registration, product authorization and product license installation.

IMPORTANT: OSX and Windows computer identification code are based in different algorithm codes. In OSX computers, computer identification code is the same as Macintosh OSX serial number but in Windows computers, computer identification code, is based on several internal hardware components, therefore after an OS or hardware change or upgrade you should check if your computer identification code has changed.

NOTE: If you encounter problems in registration or authorization, please contact our tech support department through Customer Area, Dashboard, Submit Tickets and select the appropriate department.

1. Product registration
Product registration is automatic after you purchase a product in our on-line shop and your newly purchased product will be available to download in your Dashboard, My Products - Downloads section.

2. Product authorization
Product authorization is an on line process for create a product license based on computer identification code and requires some steps:
- 2.1. Run Nebula in your audio host.
- 2.2. Nebula automatically will create a computer identification code based into your hardware and operation system. Computer identification code will be displayed in user interface and will be written in a file in your computer disk (please see paths and files for more details).
- 2.3. Browse your Dashboard, Authorize Products section and upload your computer identification code file.
- 2.4. Acustica Audio Global Key Generator will automatically create your license depending on your product and the computer identification code. Your license will be deposited in your Dashboard, My Licenses section and also an automatic email will send to you with your license and installation instructions.

3. Product license installation
Download your product license from Dashboard, My Licenses section or from your email and install it in the correct paths (please see paths and files for more details).

Paths and files information

Computer identification code file in OSX:
Path: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Presets/AcusticaAudio/Nebula3/.

Computer identification code in Windows:
Path: C:\ProgramData\AcusticaAudio\NebulaTempRepository\ (path is not fixed).

File name and extension: Nebula3.SER.

License file in OSX:
INIT.N2V path: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Presets/AcusticaAudio/Nebula3/Vectors/INIT.N2V.
INIT.N2P path: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Presets/AcusticaAudio/Nebula3/Programs/INIT.N2P.

License file in Windows:
INIT.N2V path: C:\NebulaTempRepository\Vectors\INIT.N2V (path is not fixed).
INIT.N2P path: C:\NebulaTempRepository\Programs\INIT.N2P (path is not fixed).

File names and extensions: INIT.N2V and INIT.N2P.

Troubleshooting product registration
1. Nebula not appears in Dashboard, My Products - Downloads section.
- Check if your paypal email is different from Acustica Audio email. Contact sales department.
- Check if the product is in pre-sale period. Wait for product be released.

2. No access to download section website ask for a password.
- Go first to our cloud partner at http://www.box.com and accept cookies. Contact tech support department.

Troubleshooting product authorization
1. No computer ID code (Nebula3.SER file) is created.
- Contact our tech support department for a alternative solution.

2. Fix multiple or duplicated computer ID code (Nebula3.SER file) uploads.
- We don't delete licenses. If you need an extra slot, contact licensing department.

3. Dashboard show "Nebula3.SER already exist!" after upload.
- Contact licensing department.

4. Dashboard show "That is not a valid file type or file size too big!"
- Normally this error message happens only in Windows with Internet Explorer browser(s). To fix it, associate .SER extension with Windows notepad.exe application and try to upload your computer ID code (Nebula3.SER file) again.
If you still getting this error message, contact our support department thought a support ticket for an alternative solution.

5. Dashboard show "You have reached the maximum number (0 of 0) of license requests for the product class".
- Contact licensing department.

6. Dashboard show "You have reached the maximum number (2 of 2) of license requests for the product class".
- Contact licensing department.

Troubleshooting product license installation
1. Automatic email with installation instructions and license has never reached.
- Contact our tech support department.

- How to authorize and license Nebula in same computer after format your OS
1. Install Nebula in formatted computer.
2. Run Nebula in your audio host.
3. A computer ID code based into your current hardware and operation system will be created.
4. Open Nebula3.SER file in a text editor to see the alphanumeric code (please see paths and files for more details).
5. Go your Dashboard, My Licenses section and checks for some identical alphanumeric code in serial column, then check if the serial match with Nebula3 in product class column (you can use search engine in upper right of My Licenses section). If you find that your computer ID code was previously uploaded and our Global Key Generator generated your license, you don't need to upload again your current Nebula3.SER file, just download your old license and install it (please see paths and files for more details).
6. If you can not find an identical alphanumeric code in serial in My Licenses section column, go back main instructions, product authorization, and follow instructions from step 2.3.

- How to authorize and license Nebula in a new computer after clone your OS or personal files
1. Move Nebula3.SER file to a backup folder (please see paths and files for more details).
2. Run Nebula in your audio host.
3. Nebula automatically will create a new computer ID code based into your hardware and operation system in a new Nebula3.SER file (please see paths and files for more details).
4. Open both, new and old Nebula3.SER, in a text editor to see the alphanumeric code. If both alphanumeric code are equal you can still using our old product license, but nevertheless if alphanumeric codes are different, go back main instructions, product authorization and follow instructions from step 2.3.
